The Indian women’s team entered the quarter-finals of the Uber Cup badminton by defeating America 4-1 in a one-sided match in Group D. This is the second successive win for the Indian team after beating Canada 4-1 in the first match, which has ensured them to finish in the top two of the group.
PV Sindhu beat Jenny Gaye 21-10, 21-11 to get India off to a winning start. Then in doubles, Tanisha Crasto and Trisa Jolly beat Francesca Corbett and Alison Lee 21-19, 21-10. Akrishi Kashyap beat Esther Shi 21-18, 21-11 to give India a 3-0 lead.
