You all know that under the Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of the country on 9 November 2000 after separating from Uttar Pradesh. Which was provisionally named Uttaranchal at that time. Even after separating 21 years ago, some disputes are going on between the two states regarding the transfer of property. In November 2021, a meeting was held between the Chief Ministers of both the states to resolve the disputes, in which some issues were agreed upon. Now in this sequence, during the stay of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttarakhand, these disputes are expected to be put to an end.
The fight between the two states over the Alaknanda Hotel built on the banks of the Ganges was such that the matter went to court. One of them is Hotel Alaknanda which is built on the banks of Ganga Ji. This hotel has been run by the UP Tourism Corporation, which Uttarakhand wanted its possession. However, about two and a half years ago, the then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat and the Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath, resolved through talks. The result of this is that Uttarakhand got its Alaknanda hotel and next to it, UP built Bhagirathi Hotel and prepared it. Hotel Bhagirathi will be inaugurated on Thursday in the presence of Yogi Adityanath and Pushkar Dhami after completing the formalities for the distribution of properties. At the same time, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said ‘The dispute of 21 years, settled in 20 minutes.
