“PM Modi’s Raksha Bandhan Blessing: Gas Price Reduction Adds Ease to Women’s Lives”

In a heartwarming gesture on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm Raksha Bandhan greetings while emphasizing that the reduction in cooking gas prices would greatly enhance the lives of women.

Marking the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, PM Modi shared, “The festival of Raksha Bandhan is a day to enhance the joy within families. The decrease in gas prices will add to the comfort of the sisters in my extended family, making their lives more convenient. I wish happiness and good health for all my sisters.”

On the same day, the Central Government announced a substantial reduction in cooking gas prices, reinforcing the significance of the festival. Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur referred to this reduction as a special ‘gift’ to the women of India, coinciding with the celebrations of Onam and Raksha Bandhan.

This reduction of ₹200 per cylinder is distinct from the existing targeted subsidy of ₹200 per cylinder for Ujjwala households. The result of this announcement is a notable drop in the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder, from ₹1,103 to ₹903 in the national capital. Ujjwala beneficiaries in Delhi will now be able to avail the cylinder for an effective price of ₹703, bringing substantial relief to their households.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed his appreciation for PM Modi’s decision, stating, “By reducing gas cylinder prices by ₹200, PM Modi has presented a valuable gift to millions of women. This holds significant importance for them. Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries, who already receive a ₹200 subsidy, will now benefit from a total subsidy of ₹400. I believe this will bring immense relief to women across the country.”

Fellow lawmaker Smriti Irani also extended her gratitude, saying, “I am thankful to PM Modi for this distinctive gift for our sisters. Addressing the opposition’s comments, I would like to emphasize that the opposition’s continued deliberations can be beneficial for the nation. As for those in need, what more can I say?”

The combined essence of Raksha Bandhan’s goodwill and the reduction in gas prices resonates as a unique effort to enhance the lives of women, portraying a government committed to empowering its citizens.
