Dysfunctional- the term dysfunctional is a topic of discussion because nobody wants to talk about it nor do they want to accept the truth.
Dysfunctional is anything terrible, inappropriate, or inhumane which affects a human being on a mental and physical level.
India has around 50% of dysfunctional families and we don’t want to acknowledge the fact.
But, how long are we going to ignore it?
Is it okay to live in a dysfunctional family? Is abuse justified?
Dysfunctional families in India include 50 per cent of the population. Many dysfunctional families come from another dysfunctional family, it becomes a pattern in the genetic code, and the new generation becomes the target of the dysfunctional family. Childhood trauma is one of the most common factors in India that damages a child’s self-concept, strength, and decision making ability ty, which generates anxiety in the youngsters. The rising cause of depression and other mental illnesses have a background history of trauma caused by parents:- Mother Wound, Father Wound etc.
It becomes important to go for family therapy for the child to get better and family dynamics to improve. But, nobody in India stresses therapy, there is a high stigma around treatment and this leads to another stressful situation which is a child not being able to come out of the pain, dysfunctional family, and chaos. It creates hazardous situations like suicide.
India needs to look into the deep aspect of family dynamics and improve to become a healthy nation to live in.
