Open account, check balance, and 13 other SBI banking services available on WhatsApp

The State Bank of India offers a range of convenient banking services through WhatsApp. Customers can access SBI’s banking services on their mobile phones by scanning a QR code.

The services available include:

  1. Account Balance Check:
    SBI users, including both Savings and Current account holders, can check their account balance. For sole proprietors with CC and OD A/Cs, additional features like book balance, account renewal date, and stock statement expiration date are also available.
  2. Mini Statements:
    WhatsApp banking allows users to check their mini statements, which provide details of the last few transactions from the linked account.
  3. Pension Slip Service:
    Retired employees can generate their pension slips using the SBI WhatsApp banking service.
  4. Banking Forms:
    General banking forms, such as deposit forms and withdrawal forms, can be downloaded using WhatsApp banking.
  5. Deposit Details:
    Customers can check various deposit details, including Saving Account, Recurring Deposit (RD), Fixed Deposit (FD), Term Deposit, and more.
  6. Loan Details:
    Users can inquire about loan options, such as home loans, car loans, gold loans, personal loans, education loans, etc., including basic queries and interest rates.
  7. Open a New SBI Account:
    People over 18 years old can use WhatsApp banking to gather information about opening a new SBI Insta account, including features, eligibility criteria, and requirements.
  8. NRI Services:
    Customers living abroad can access their NRE and NRO account details using the SBI WhatsApp banking service.
  9. Debit Card Information:
    WhatsApp banking allows users to check debit card details, including usage history and transaction information.
  10. Lost or Stolen Card Services:
    Users can avail services related to lost or stolen cards through the SBI WhatsApp banking service.
  11. Locate Nearby ATM and Branch:
    Customers can find nearby SBI ATMs or branches using WhatsApp banking.
  12. Contacts/Grievance Redressal Helplines:
    WhatsApp banking provides official contact details for grievance redressal and other SBI account-related queries.
  13. Pre-approved Loan Queries:
    Customers can inquire about pre-approved loans, including personal, car, and two-wheeler loans, using WhatsApp.
  14. Digital Banking Information:
    SBI offers digital banking details to users through WhatsApp, including net banking information.
  15. Bank Holidays:
    Customers can find information about bank holidays using the SBI WhatsApp banking service.

Send an SMS in the following format: “WAREG ACCOUNT NUMBER” to +917208933148 from your registered mobile number. For example, if your account number is 123456789, send the SMS as WAREG 123456789 to +917208933148. If registration is successful, you will receive a confirmation message on WhatsApp linked to your registered mobile number. To get started with SBI WhatsApp banking, save the number +919022690226 in your phone and send “Hi” on WhatsApp. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the chatbot.
