Lucknow: Amid a spike in Covid-19 cases, gyms closed; restaurants and cinemas to have 50% capacity

As the Covid cases are rising in the capital state on Thursday the Lucknow district administration urged a new set of limitations on the movement of the public and issued new fresh guidelines.


” The government order issued by state administration has been implemented in the district. From now on, gyms, swimming pools and water parks will be closed. All the restaurants, food joints and cinema halls will function half of its capacity (50%) with immediate effect” was stated by the district magistrate Abhishek Prakash.

Abhishek Prakash also added that the restaurants and cinema halls are mandatory to have all the Covid setup. They must have a Covid desk and conduct screening for visitors. He told all these places should use a pulse oximeter, infrared thermometer and sanitiser are the most important things during this period. The night curfew will continue from 10 pm to 6 am strict.


Only 100 guests will be allowed in marriage ceremonies as well as in closed banquet halls following all the Covid standard operating procedures (SOPs) in these places while the open places in the grounds will allow gathering of just 50% of their capacity.

There are strict restrictions that have been given to the religious places that all these sacred places to set up Covid help desks ande to allow those devotees who wear masks. Likely all the monuments which come under ASI, zoo, clubs will also have Covid help desks and will ensure the screening of every visitor as stated by Prakash.
Coming towards the educational field the schools up to class 10 will remain closed until 16 January, as well as the children during the age group of 15 to 18 years, will be given two days off after their vaccination. All the sectors of Information Technology or the office work companies will re-begin work from home.


As directed by the DM tat the local and weekly bazaar’s should take place in such a manner that there is no crowd and the public should follow the social distancing. If it is necessary the markets can also be shifted to open in the ground. Trucks will be allowed in the markets from 4 am till 8 am.
