Know about Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam

In Andhra Pradesh, there is an independent trust which manages the temples including the Tirumala Venkateswara temples. The trust that manages the temples is known as Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The operations and the finances of the second richest and most visited religious center in the world oversee the trust. The trust is involved in various socio-religious, literary, and educational activities. Tirupati is the TTD headquarter and employs are about 16,000 people.

Formation

In 1932, TTD was formed as a result of TTD Act of 1932. According to the TTD Action in the year 1932, the administration of the temple was vested in a committee of seven members and appointed by the Madras Government. These are overseen by a paid commissioner. The committee holds two advisory councils, the temple administrators to aid the committee with the operations of the Tirumala is composed of priests and for the advice of Tirumala’s land and estate transaction, the other composed of farmers.

The Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institution and Endowment Acts in the year of 1969, sections 85 to 91, expanded the provisions of TTD. The number of trustees expanded from five to eleven with mandatory representations from certain communities. Devasthanam is obliged to promote the study of Indian languages and to propagate the Hindu religion by research, teaching, training, and the creation of literature.

Temples that comes under TTD Administration

The administration of Lord Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala, primarily is managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Many other temples in Tirupati as well as all around the world are managed by the TTD trust. Constructed by the TTD itself the temples include both the new temples and historical as well.

Departments

Almost all the TTD departments that would be in a government, which includes production(Laddus), engineering ( dams and roads), water supply, HR, transport, procurement and marketing, finance and accounting, public relations, information technology, forest and gardens, educational institution and hospitals, revenue and general administration.

Services

Various services for pilgrims, TTD provides to Tirumala and Tirupati. The TTD services include services of the buses, accommodation, and food. The queue management system, distribution of laddus, and facilitates head tonsure are maintained by the trust of the TTD.
