K.L Rahul’s interview was shared by the ICC a 20 sec. clip where Rahul talked about the year 2011 historic match of India’s World cup win where M.S Dhoni lead the team as the captain and influenced the team back then.
On Friday, the Indian opener K.L Rahul revealed his intention to win the world cup to create the past. Currently, Rahul is a part of the Indian squad participating in the ongoing T20 World cup.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Instagram handler shared Rahul’s 20 sec. clip where he took the press conference to the historic match of the 2011 world cup win of India under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and where Dhoni influenced the team at that moment.
Rahul also stated while growing up at home, he evidenced the 2011 world cup, that’s when the netizen and the nation won the match that year and at that moment the things changed for him. He also added, ” I want to win a world cup for my country, want to win multiple world cups and to be part of the world cups and to create the past.”
The year 2021 ICC tournament is the second world cup appearance of K.L Rahul for India having appeared previously in the edition of 2019 of the 50 over tournament in England.
On Friday in Dubai, he slammed an eighteen-ball fifty which helped India to chase down Scotland’s 86 run target on just 6.3 overs to take their net run rate above Afghanistan and New Zealand.
With a 10 wicket at defeat against the arch-rivals Pakistan before losing to New Zealand, India began their campaign. India strongly bounced back to beat Afghanistan by 66 runs and Scotland by 8 wickets to boost their net run rate and to keep hopes alive in the semi-finals whereas Rahul in both matches scored half-centuries.
