Following Elon Musk’s takeover of the microblogging platform last month, Twitter is currently witnessing a significant reduction in staff. Numerous people have already lost their jobs, and thousands more are reportedly on the verge of doing so.
A 25-year-old Indian man named Yash Agarwal, who worked in Twitter’s Public Policy division, is one of those who have been let go.
Agarwal is one of the many workers who Twitter has terminated, but the young man seems content to be moving on to a fresh beginning after receiving a severance package. His most recent social media posts, in which he can be seen with a broad grin and an uncommonly upbeat demeanor, have gone viral.
India responds to Elon Musk’s tweet requesting $8 for a subscription to the Blue Tick verification service. I just lost my job. Being a member of this team and this culture, Bird App, was the greatest honor and privilege I’ve ever experienced. He used #LoveWhereYouWorked in his tweets.
Approximately half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees will be laid off as Elon Musk starts the layoff process.
Twitter users congratulate Agarwal on his next journey :
Many internet users and his former coworkers who responded to his post praised his optimism and wished him luck in his future endeavors. “Yash, you are an incredible person. You were a lucky find for Twitter! “I’m here if you want to talk or anything, so please take care,” a Twitterati wrote. Bravo for your spirit, Yash! We had a fantastic meeting with @sphoortiorg for the blue tick review of our over 12-year-old work to support neglected education. It was a pleasure working with you, Yash! You are destined for greater things; keep moving forward! “Sic,” read another tweet.
Layoffs at Twitter will start on Friday .
According to many media sources, Twitter started firing staff on Friday, and 3,738 out of 7,500 employees will leave the firm altogether. Employees at Twitter were “instructed to go home and not return to the offices on Friday as the cuts progressed” after being alerted through email that layoffs would start.
According to the New York Times, a company-wide email said, “In an effort to put Twitter on a healthy path, we will go through the arduous process of downsizing our global labor force.”
