Encouraged by his father, Dr Kamal Ranadive completed his medical studies and later devoted his life to biology. Ranadive received an academic degree in microscopic anatomy, the study of cells, in 1949. This was whereas operating as a scientist within the Indian Cancer centre (ICRC). She later pursued her fellowship at John Hopkins University in the metropolis and returned to the municipality to open India’s initial tissue culture laboratory.
