At last, the bad news has arrived. General Bipin Rawat is no more. He was the country’s first Chief of Defense Staff, i.e. CDS. His helicopter crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu at around 12.20 pm on Wednesday. There were 14 people from the army, including General Rawat’s wife Madhulika Rawat. 13 people have died in this accident, while one is seriously injured.
Earlier it was reported that some people injured in the accident were taken to the Military Hospital in Wellington in a serious condition. From where the news kept coming for about five and a half hours that some officers including General Rawat and his wife were badly injured, but then the news of death started coming in turn.
By evening, news came that 13 people had died in the accident. Only one person is alive, who is a man. After this, there were speculations that it was General Rawat, but late in the evening, the worst news came that General Rawat was no more. His wife Madhulika also died.

Modi said – Rawat is a true patriot, deeply saddened by his departure
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have expressed grief over the death of CDS Rawat. Modi wrote in the tweet – General Rawat was an unmatched soldier. He was a true patriot and contributed to the modernization of our forces. I am deeply saddened by his passing. The nation will never forget his exceptional service. Defense Minister Rajnath said- Rawat’s untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the country and the army.
The IAF chopper crashed once it absolutely was on its approach from the Sulur IAF base to the Defence Services faculty (DSC) at Wellington. Visuals offered on cuckoo showed the IAF chopper Mi-17V5 in flames beneath the impact of the crash. The Indian Army personnel and different rescue personnel were concerned about clearing the realm. IAF confirmed that associate IAF Mi-17V5 chopper, with CDS info Bipin Rawat on board, crashed in Madras. The Air Force has ordered an exploration to determine the reason for the accident.
These people died in a helicopter accident
General Rawat, his wife, and 12 people were in the Mi-17 V5 helicopter that fell victim to the accident. The chopper included Brigadier LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Wing Commander PS Chauhan, Squadron Leader K Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Lance Naik B. Sai Teja, Junior Warrant Officer Das, Junior Warrant Officer A Pradeep, and Havildar Satpal were on board. All of them died.
“An IAF Mi-17V5 chopper, with CDS info Bipin Rawat on board, met with associate accident these days close to Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. associate Inquiry has been ordered to determine the reason for the accident,” IAF tweeted.
