Badminton Rockstar PV Sindhu Claims Gold Medal in Women’s Singles

The current Commonwealth Games women’s singles gold medallist, PV Sindhu, beat Canadian Michelle Li to win the match, and India is doing well with 19 golds, 15 silvers, and 22 bronze medals totaling 56 in the bag. On the last day of the CWG 2022, India might win up to five gold medals.

Her first-ever CWG singles gold medal goes to PV Sindhu. She just completed the set and previously earned bronze in 2014 and silver in 2018. This is her first gold in the singles division and her second overall.

She previously played with the Indian squad that won the mixed team competition on the Gold Coast in 2018. In the men’s singles badminton tournament, Lakshya Sen will also be going for the gold. The men’s doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will also compete in the final. Later that evening, the men’s hockey team would play Australia in the gold medal final.
