Agneepath Scheme: Agniveer upper age limit revised to 23 years, recruitment to begin soon

What is the Agnibad Project?

Under the ‘Agneepath’ scheme, the youth can get the chance to serve within the army for four years. Agnipath scheme | Agniveers higher ordinance revised

The Agneepath or Agnipath scheme was recently launched by the government in an attempt to bring a modification to the recruitment method of soldiers. With the new military achievement theme facing backlash, the Centre is set to modify within the higher ordinance for recruiting agencies.

Granting a one-time discharge, the Centre on June 16, 2022, declared that the Agniveer higher ordinance for recruitment via the Agnipath scheme has been extended to 23 years from twenty-one years.

Issuing an official statement on the Agnipath theme, the Defence Ministry said that the one-time discharge within the higher ordinance has been granted as no recruitments have taken place in the last 2 years. Many specialists believe that the choice conjointly comes at the scene of Agnipath-related protests that are erupting in many components of the country.

Agnipath’s theme for achievement for the soldiers aims at adding 46,000 troopers to the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force (IAF). After the launch of the theme, the entry age for all recruits or agnives was set as 17 12–21 years. However, this one-time discharge or extension until 23 years has currently been declared.

The Agneepath Scheme, since its launch, has utterly divided numerous sections of the population.
